How to Apply

  • Look at the label

    Flea and tick treatment and prevention products are effective when used as directed. However, it is important to always Look at the Label to ensure that the product you select is right for your pet.     • Read the label completely: As with medications for humans, thoroughly read and review all label instructions before purchase and application. This also includes making sure that your pet meets the age requirements stated on the product package.
    • Weigh your pet: Be sure to weigh your pet to ensure that your animal’s weight matches the dosage listed on the product package.
    • Only apply product intended for your pet’s species: Make sure that you have a product labeled for the correct species of your pet. Never use a flea and tick treatment and prevention product intended for dogs on a cat and vice versa.
    • Avoid double dosing: Our squeeze-on products are designed to work alone and NOT in combination with other flea and tick control products. Determine when you last treated your pet with a flea and tick product — this includes flea and tick squeeze-ons, shampoos, powders, sprays, dips and collars — and only reapply as directed on the product label. All products will vary. Check the product packaging or call PetArmor or your veterinarian to ensure the recommended time has passed since the last application of any product before applying a new product.
    • Separate multiple pets: Be sure to separate multiple pets after using flea and tick treatment and prevention so that it doesn’t rub off or pets lick the product off of each other. As with any flea and tick treatment and prevention squeeze-on, even the smallest amount of product that gets into a dog’s or cat’s mouth can cause drooling or foaming — and in rare cases can result in death.
    • Do NOT divide tube doses between multiple animals: For example, if you have a 20-lb. dog, do not use half of a dose intended for a 40-lb. dog. Also, do not combine two tubes of a lower weight break for a larger dog. Always use the full tube on the pet per the product’s application guidelines.

      Precautionary Statements: Hazards to humans. Caution. Harmful if swallowed. Causes eye irritation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum using tobacco or using the toilet.

      Hazards to Domestic Animals: For external use on cats only. Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur after using any pesticide product on cats. Certain medications can interact with pesticides. Do not treat your cat with more than one pesticide product at a time. Over dosing your cat can result in serious illness and even death. Consult a veterinarian before using on medicated, debilitated, or aged cats. Can be used on breeding, pregnant, or lactating cats. Consult a veterinarian before using on cats with known organ dysfunction.

      First Aid:
      If Swallowed:
      Call a poison control center or a doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a Poison Control Center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
      If in Eyes: Flush eyes with plenty of water. Call a doctor if irritation persists. If on Skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation persists.

      Hot Line Number: Have the product container or label with you when calling a Poison Control Center or doctor, or going for treatment. You may also contact 1-888-908-Tick (8425) for emergency medical treatment information.
      Side Effects: Monitor your cat after application. Some cats may experience temporary startle effects when any product is applied. Cats may experience some temporary irritation at the site of product application such as redness, scratching or other signs of discomfort. If signs of sensitivity occur, bathe your cat with a mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water. If these or other side effects occur, consult your veterinarian or call 1-888-908-Tick (8425). If your cat has an unusual reaction to the initial application, consult a veterinarian before repeating application. The most common signs of incidental ingestion are excessive salivation and foaming at the mouth. If these symptoms occur, immediately feed your cat and continue to monitor your cat for the next 24 hours.
